Golden Pineapple Plant

The Golden pineapple is a hybrid of the Cayenne pineapple. It has a large green crown, narrow leaves and a golden skin. The yellow pulp is firm, fibrous, juicy, fragrant and extra sweet, less prone to oxidation than the regular pineapple. It is oval shaped (30 cm high and 15 cm in diameter) and cylindrical in shape.
Time to Maturity and Fruiting: Regardless of how it was started, a pineapple plant matures at between two and three years of age when it will bear its first fruit. Afterward, it can fruit another time or two at roughly two year intervals before the plant “wears out.”

Pineapple plants when young and kept indoors bear flowers that bloom for two weeks then begin setting fruit. The Golden Pineapple plant grows well both indoors and outdoors; with right care it can reward you with its delicious, edible tropical fruits.
Water from the top down once a week during the summer or spring season. You can space out the watering sessions for longer durations during winter. They’re generally more tolerant of being under-watered rather than over-watered. If you have placed your plant outdoors, consider misting the leaves of the Golden Pineapple plant along with watering them.
The soil requirements for Golden Pineapple Plant are not very demanding. The soil should be rich, acidic, moist and well-drained.
The Golden Pineapple plant thrives the best in full sun. If you choose to grow it indoors, pick a spot in your home that receives the most sunlight. If you choose to grow it outdoors or on a patio be mindful that the plant is naturally grown in tropical areas and cannot tolerate cold winters in which case it’s best to bring them in during the winter season.
Heavy salts in fertilizers can burn the roots so use either traditional potting mix or liquid fertilizers. A general potting mix like Miracle Gro should work.
Keep the plant in a temperature that ranges from 65°F to 95°F. If you live in a dry climate, try misting your plant occasionally.
