Starfish Stapelia grandiflora

2 years old

When does the starfish flower bloom? You may usually anticipate a young plant to blossom in two years with just one or two blooms. In North America, the plant will bloom from July through September when it is fully grown.

The cactus (Stapelia grandiflora) is also known as a carrion flower. The five-petaled flowers exude an unpleasant odor. The scent attracts flies and other insects, which pollinate the blooms.

My Stapelia’s are now two years old. They can be planted in the ground, or potted Up. Remember, the flower stinks, bad lol If you keep in the house, it can’t be pollinated by the flies and other stink loving insects.
